Me: “I’m going to build a successful company.”
Me: 47 minutes later:
• Changed the business strategy.
• Changed the pricing.
• Changed the website headline.
• Had a brilliant new product idea.
• Wondered if the original product was actually a terrible idea.
• Checked the bank account.
• Opened 19 browser tabs.
• Forgot why I opened 14 of them.
• Sent myself a reminder.
• Forgot to read the reminder.
• Had a meeting about having fewer meetings.
• Worked all day and somehow accomplished 3 things.
• Told everyone, “We’re making great progress!”
• Went to bed thinking about work.
• Woke up with a completely new idea.
And tomorrow? We do it all again.
Because apparently being a founder means simultaneously being the:
CEO • Salesperson • Marketer • Product Manager • Customer Support • Strategist • Accountant • Recruiter • IT Department • Coffee Department
and occasionally the person asking: “Wait… what exactly am I supposed to be doing today?”
But underneath all the chaos, there’s something pretty amazing about building something you believe should exist.
What’s the most ridiculous part of your day-to-day life that nobody warned you about?
