Building a Community

Building a community is easy at first. You have a few friends that join to support you, and they tell a few of their friends. But growing your community while making it interesting and helpful, so that people return daily, is a whole other ballgame!
Here are some tips that I found useful:
• Build communities that people actually want to return to, participate in, learn from, and eventually identify with
• Make your community a place where people can learn, connect, collaborate, share opportunities, and become known
• Start with conversations, not necessarily content
• Build recurring rituals
• Celebrate members regularly
• Create opportunities for members to help each other.
• Partner with existing communities
• Give people a reason to return every day
There are many other ways to help your community prosper.
I'll share some more in a future post, but the above tips should really help you to kickstart your community! Best wishes to you...
